Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central constituency and musician, Kwame Asare-Obeng, also known as A Plus, has raised concerns about the progress of the investigation into the murder of journalist Ahmed Suale in 2019.

A Plus claims to have provided crucial information to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) last year, including the alleged involvement of a former government minister in contracting assailants for the crime.

He expressed frustration over the lack of updates in the investigation and called on the CID director to provide the public with information on the case’s status.

A Plus has given the Ghana Police Service a 48-hour ultimatum to provide an update on the investigation. If no update is provided, he threatened to use his authority as an MP to summon the police to brief Parliament on the matter.

A Plus also warned that he would disclose details of the case, including the alleged perpetrator’s name, on social media if necessary.

Ahmed Suale was a key member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s Tiger Eye PI team and was shot dead in 2019, sparking calls for justice.

Despite investigations, no concrete conclusions or arrests have been made in the case, and the Ghana Police Service is yet to respond to A Plus’s statements.
