Private Actors Welfare Scheme launched in Accra

A new welfare scheme has been introduced for actors in Ghana in an effort to support them during challenging times.

The initiative was launched in Accra on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Accra Marriott Hotel by Ghanaian actor and creative entrepreneur, Fiifi Coleman, in collaboration with Hollard Insurance.

During the launch event, Fiifi Coleman emphasized the importance of the scheme in providing financial security for actors, especially in situations of illness or old age. He expressed his vision for a future where every actor can retire with dignity and pride, free from the fear of financial insecurity.

In attendance at the launch, which also included a dinner for the actors, were renowned figures from the Ghanaian entertainment industry such as Mawuli Semevo, Akofa Edjeani, Vivian Opare, and Pascaline Edwards.

The event was graced by the presence of celebrated playwright and lecturer, Dr. Mohammed Ben-Abdallah, who encouraged the actors to embrace the welfare scheme.

Eunice Etornam Owusu, the Group Business and Partnership Manager of Hollard Insurance, also engaged with the actors on the modalities of the scheme, highlighting its potential benefits for the industry.
