Patrons of the Jazz In January Festival are in for a treat as the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, in collaboration with the Ghana Jazz Foundation, is bringing back the event from January 1 to January 5, 2025.
After the success of the maiden edition earlier this year, organizers have put together an exciting lineup of performers to spread some feel-good vibes for a cheerful start to the New Year.
Kicking off the festival on January 1 will be the all-female Lipstick Queens, known for their danceable repertoire and ability to please the audience. They have been a leading band in the country for a decade and are sure to set the stage on fire.
American guitarist Bill Macpherson will take the stage on January 2 with his band Native Vibe, following the unfortunate demise of his musical partner, bassist Nee Sackey. Macpherson, along with keyboardist Carl Amoah and the West Coast Band, promises a musical journey like no other.
The Afro4 Band from Nigeria will showcase their bold skills on January 3, with a lineup of talented musicians including Bright Gain on bass, Wale Adeyemi on drums and vocals, Victor Ademofe on trumpet, flugelhorn, percussion, and vocals, and Luyanda Madope on piano, keyboards, and vocals.
On January 4, the stage will light up with the performance of internationally-acclaimed Camerounian bassist, Etienne Mbappe, and the GHJazz Collective featuring American musicians Godwin Louis and Simon Moulier.
Louis, a Grammy Award-nominated saxophonist, and Moulier, a vibraphonist with five albums to his name, are set to deliver a memorable performance.
The festival will come to a close on January 5 with a Master Jam Session, promising an evening of musical bliss.
