The President of the Foundation of Concerned Arts Professionals (FOCAP), Kojo Preko Dankwa, has lauded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their exceptional campaign efforts in the creative arts sector leading up to the 2024 election on December 7th.

Dankwa highlighted the unprecedented and well-organized creative arts campaign embarked upon by the NDC, noting that it was the most effective and far-reaching campaign the country has ever witnessed.

He emphasized the significant shift in the involvement of creatives in political campaigns since Ghana’s democracy began in 1992.

The NDC’s approach to the creative arts campaign involved grassroots mobilization in all 16 regions of Ghana, collaboration with industry associations, engagement with creative splinter groups, and the organization of industry stakeholder engagements.

They also provided training in communication skills and social media usage for creatives in different regions to effectively promote their manifesto.

One of the most notable strategies employed by the NDC was the alignment with various creative individuals and groups to conduct their own campaign programs in support of the party.

This extensive and inclusive approach led to the successful “Creative Connect” event with over 2000 industry players in attendance, where the NDC’s creative manifesto ideas were presented by John Dramani Mahama.
