Joy and excitement filled the air as Helina was declared the winner of the Next Gospel Star Season 5 reality show.
The event took place on December 15, 2024, at the National Theatre, where she was awarded a Toyota Vitz saloon car, GHC10,000, and a recording contract.
The competition was fierce, with seven finalists showcasing their talent and skills. In the end, Helina emerged victorious, while Elikem and Doathess secured second and third positions, respectively.
The judges for the night were Dr. Ben Amakye Boateng, Chris Appau, and Dr. Alfred Addaquay, who also mesmerized the audience with his Christmas carols.
Mr. Joe Osae, the CEO of Ceejay Multimedia and the mastermind behind the show, presented Helina with the key to her car. He expressed his gratitude to all the participants, including the finalists and the 21 contestants who kicked off the competition 13 weeks ago.
Mr. Osae thanked the production crew and sponsors for their support throughout the challenging period. He also shared his hope that more Christian brothers and sisters in the country would come together to support initiatives like the Next Gospel Star and promote budding gospel music singers.
As a token of appreciation, the top three winners will enjoy a weekend stay at the Volta Hotel in Akosombo, courtesy of the hotel and Dodi World. Mr. Osae also acknowledged the support of sponsors such as Twellium Industrial Co. Ltd., Volta Hotel, Dodi World, Flora Joy, and the Akwaaba Festival 2025 organizing secretariat.
