Ghanaian rapper, Medikal, recently spoke out about the challenges he faced following his arrest in 2021 for brandishing a gun on social media.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the rapper shared his experience, stating that he felt dehumanized during the arrest.

Medikal disclosed that he had to clear his name from embassies due to his criminal record in order to travel, which he described as a strenuous process.

He expressed frustration over the handling of his case, emphasizing that he did not believe he had committed a crime by displaying a registered gun on social media.

The rapper also clarified that he was unaware that such an action was considered an offense. He highlighted that brandishing a legally owned and licensed gun at home should not be deemed a criminal act.

Reflecting on his arrest, Medikal explained why he criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on social media, stating that he believes in fair treatment for all citizens. Despite his distrust of the government, he expressed hope that they would uphold justice for everyone.
