The Vice Chancellor of Takoradi Technical University, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, has congratulated the representatives of the school for their outstanding performance in the second edition of Joy Prime’s Big Chef Tertiary culinary competition.
The students from the Hospitality Department secured the fourth position out of nine competing Technical Universities across the country.
During a visit to the Vice Chancellor, the student representatives presented their award, which included a table fridge, microwave oven, 2,000 cedis cash prize sponsored by Lancaster Hotel, certificate of participation, and products from sponsors.
The team was led by the Head of the Department of Hospitality Management, coaches, and staff.
Recognizing the significance of the achievement, Rev. Prof. Eshun praised the students for their success and emphasized the importance of projecting TTU as a center of excellence. He encouraged the students and faculty to prepare diligently for future competitions and strive to secure the first position in the next edition.
Dr. Adelaide Spio-Kwofie, the Head of the Department of Hospitality Management, emphasized the benefits of participating in such competitions, stating that it showcases the students’ skills and boosts their confidence. She also highlighted the positive impact on the university’s reputation and visibility.
In response to the Vice Chancellor’s call for enhanced preparation, Dr. Spio-Kwofie pledged to mobilize and strategize effectively for upcoming competitions to ensure victory. She outlined plans to engage with students and allocate resources to support their participation in future events.
The Registrar of TTU, Dr. Moses McLean Abnory, and the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Evan. Prof. Joe Turkson was also present during the award presentation.
