Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei finds himself in hot water after a social media post from his account made derogatory remarks about President-Elect John Dramani Mahama.

The post, which has since been deleted, referred to Mahama as a “drunkard.”

Osei, in response to the backlash, claimed that he was not the one behind the offensive post.

He explained during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that he had left his phone with his cousins and friends due to the emotional distress following the election results. This led to them responding to the negative comments directed at him on social media.

Although Osei and his associates denied making the disrespectful comment about Mahama, he acknowledged that they may have posted it out of frustration from the attacks they were receiving online.

The actor expressed surprise and distress upon waking up to the news that he had insulted the president, leading him to issue a public apology to quell the death threats he was receiving.

Osei believes that the provocative responses from his friends and cousins may have incited the situation, and he suspects that they may have deleted the posts afterward.

The actor emphasized that he did not endorse or condone the disrespectful language used in the post against Mahama.
