The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards’ MC/Hypeman of the Year, MC Portfolio, recently shared some insights into what makes him stand out from his peers.
In a discussion with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime, he expressed gratitude for finally being recognized for his hard work after missing out on the award several times.
Despite many of his high-profile shows not being held in Accra, MC Portfolio emphasized his influence in the event-hosting space.
He highlighted his involvement in prestigious events such as Otumfuo’s 25th-anniversary concert, the biggest all-black party, and Asamoah Gyan’s sports stadium show. Portfolio asserted that no MC has had a bigger impact on pop culture than him.
Regarding his joint win with Kojo Manuel for the Best MC/Hypeman of the Year award at the 2024 Ghana DJ Awards, Portfolio stated that he embodies the true essence of the MC/Hypeman category better than any other nominee.
While Portfolio sees the joint award as a well-deserved acknowledgment of his versatile skills, Kojo Manuel expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, questioning the concept of a tie in award-giving.
