Ghanaian Reggae sensation Rocky Dawuni has once again proven his talent on the global stage by receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Best Global Music Performance in 2025.
His single “Rise” has earned him this prestigious recognition, making it his fourth Grammy nomination.
Rocky Dawuni’s previous Grammy nominations include a nod for Best Reggae Album in 2015 for “Branches of The Same Tree” and a nomination for Best Global Music Album in 2021 for “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1.” In 2023, he was nominated for Best Global Music Performance as well.
The competition for the Best Global Music Performance category is tough, with nominees like Angélique Kidjo & Soweto Gospel Choir, Arooj Aftab, and Sheila E. featuring Gloria Estefan & Mimy Succar. However, Rocky Dawuni’s “Rise” showcases his unique talent and passion for music, making him a strong contender for the award.
In addition to his nomination, other African artists like Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, and Tems have also been recognized with nominations in various categories such as Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album.
