Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has expressed his belief that having a verse by highlife legend Daddy Lumba on King Paluta’s track ‘For the Popping’ will elevate the song to a whole new level.
In a video posted on Facebook, Okyeame Kwame urged fans of King Paluta to show their support for a collaboration with Daddy Lumba by typing ‘DL’ in the comments. He is determined to personally deliver the message to Daddy Lumba.
The video shows Okyeame Kwame enjoying King Paluta’s song by the pool and dancing to the catchy tune. He can be heard saying, “Hey, Daddy Lumba, you have to do a remix of this song. It falls within your lane.”
‘For the Popping’, just like ‘Makoma’, is categorized under the Burger Highlife genre, which infuses elements of pop and funk into traditional Ghanaian music. Many have compared King Paluta’s style on these tracks to that of Daddy Lumba, noting the similarities in the sub-genre and dance moves.
