“We spoke on Saturday for more than two hours. Later that evening, I received a call from her driver informing me that mummy was unwell and they were heading to Nsawam government hospital. Just a few hours later, the driver called to say they were back home,” Roman Fada recalled.

The following morning, Roman Fada received a call from an ambulance driver rushing Akua Donkor to Ridge Hospital. Despite efforts to save her, the news of her passing came later that night.

Throughout her political career, she faced numerous challenges, including being disqualified from elections by the Electoral Commission due to eligibility issues. Despite these setbacks, Akua Donkor remained steadfast in her fight for marginalized communities.

As the third candidate on the ballot for the 2024 presidential elections, Akua Donkor was actively campaigning and preparing to implement policies such as free vehicles for journalists, duty-free port services, free education, and improved remuneration for farmers.

Her running mate, Roman Fada, who is also the manager for highlife musician Daddy Lumba and a broadcaster at Atinka FM, expressed deep sorrow over her passing and pledged to continue her legacy in the political sphere.
