Ohene Kwame Frimpong, the mastermind behind the successful Medikal concert at the Indigo on O2, has revealed the incredible support he received from the artists who performed at the event.
In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, OK Frimpong, an independent candidate for the Asante Akyem North Constituency, shared that the majority of the performers covered their own expenses for the concert.
He stated, “All the acts that came to support Medikal, it’s just about two of them that we had to pay for some things, hotel and a few things. Almost all of them, they took the financial part themselves.”
Furthermore, Frimpong emphasized that he did not pay a performance fee to any of the artists, including the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Sister Derby, Jah Bahd, and Efya, who graced the stage at the event.
Reflecting on his journey in event organization, Frimpong recalled that his first event in the UK featuring Amakye Dede and Kuami Eugene encountered challenges in 2018. However, he persisted and saw success in subsequent programs, such as Medikal’s concert in London.
Apart from his ventures in event management, Ohene Kwame Frimpong is also recognized as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and visionary leader with a keen interest in media and the arts.
