Germany-based Ghanaian Highlife star Kofi Eiphos is calling on the Ghanaian media to shine a brighter spotlight on artists residing abroad.
With a reputation for his captivating live performances and international acclaim, Eiphos expressed his disappointment in the lack of media coverage for Ghanaian artists based in other countries.
Born Kweis Annan, Kofi Eiphos is recognized as one of the top Germany-based Ghanaian artists who proudly represents the nation with his performances.
He recently wowed audiences with a sold-out show in Germany, showcasing his powerful stage presence and deep connection with the crowd alongside a vibrant live band featuring musicians from both Ghana and Germany.
In an interview with GhanaWeekend, Kofi Eiphos emphasized the need for more recognition of artists like himself who are excelling outside of Ghana. He lamented, “Despite my success here in Germany, I have noticed a lack of media attention on abroad-based artists.
How many media outlets are highlighting our achievements? It seems they are only interested in reporting negative news.”
Known for hits like “Abenaa” and “DJ 50 50,” KofiEiphos believes that by showcasing the accomplishments and contributions of artists living abroad, the Ghanaian music industry can benefit from greater exposure and international acclaim.
