Disk Jockey, Kwabena Koduah, popularly known as DJ Ikon, has received an impressive four nominations in the upcoming 12th edition of the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards.
The awards, organized by Merqury Republic, have recognized DJ Ikon in categories such as Male Radio DJ of the Year, Artist DJ of Year, Event DJ of Year, and Afrobeats DJ of the Year.
The competition is fierce, with other notable DJs like Joy FM’s DJ Wobete, Pluzz FM’s Mr Shark, and Y FM’s DJ Sly King vying for the coveted Male Radio DJ of the Year title.
In the Afrobeats DJ category, DJ Ikon will be competing against established names such as ADDJ and DJ Quest.
DJ Ikon, who is the official DJ for Cruise Control and The Mix tape Show on Hitz FM, is optimistic about clinching his first award at the prestigious event. He also holds the role of official DJ for award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Kofi Mole.
The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Festival set to take place on November 9, 2024, at The Palms Convention Center, promises an electrifying lineup of performers. Acts like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kwabena Kwabena, Andy Dosty, and Keche are set to command the stage and entertain the audience.
Additionally, the Ghana DJ Clinic, organized by Merqury Republic as part of the Ghana DJ Awards Festival, recently hosted its 5th edition on September 7. The clinic aims to educate, empower, and build relationships among upcoming and professional DJs in the industry.
