Acclaimed radio and TV personality, Kpekpo Maxwell Justice, also known as KMJ, has been selected to host the prestigious Africa Cinema Summit in 2024.
Scheduled to take place from the 7th to the 10th of October, this year’s summit aims to build on the success of the inaugural event held last year.
The first edition brought together filmmakers from 20 African countries for discussions on advancing the cinema industry on the continent.
The focus of the 2024 summit will be on enhancing the quality of local content production and consumption to attract increased investment in cinema.
The event will feature high-profile guests, including the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, and English actor of Ghanaian descent, Idris Elba.
Elba, a Golden Globe winner and chairman of the IE7 and The Akuna Group, will be joined by industry experts like Fiona Lamptey and Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer.
The theme for this year’s summit is “The Relevance of Cinema in African Communities.”
KMJ’s diverse talents as a host have earned him a strong following. He has successfully hosted major events such as the Ghana Music Awards Europe, the Ghana Independence Concert, and Sarkodie’s Jamz US Tour.
His interviews with prominent figures from various sectors, including former Presidents John A. Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama, showcase his versatility and appeal.
