UK-based Ghanaian gospel sensation, Sonnie Badu, recently shared his disappointment at being neglected by his colleagues within the gospel music industry following his injury in 2023.

In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show, he revealed that not a single gospel musician reached out to check on him while he was battling through the most challenging moments of his life.

Expressing his surprise at the lack of support from his fellow gospel artists, Sonnie Badu emphasized the importance of solidarity within the gospel community. Despite feeling abandoned, he found the motivation to persevere and complete the project he had started.

Although he received few messages of support from pastors like Nigerian Pastor Jerry Eze, Prophet Agyemang Prempeh, Apostle Amoako Atta, and Pastor Kingsley through social media, Sonnie Badu highlighted how the indifference from his colleagues fueled his determination to recover quickly and push forward with his December Rhythms of Africa concert.

Even in the face of worsening injury on the day of the concert, Sonnie Badu bravely took to the stage and delivered a remarkable performance. He expressed gratitude for God’s healing grace and mercy, acknowledging that the fall could have been fatal if it had been towards his head instead of his leg.

In the wake of the incident, Sonnie Badu faced criticism from some Ghanaian social media users who accused him of faking the injury to gain attention for his concert.
