Veteran quizmaster Dan-Afari Yeboah, well-known for his role on the long-running quiz show ‘What Do You Know?’ on GTV, has expressed his intention to take ownership of the show in the near future.

After overseeing the competition for over four decades, many have questioned why Mr. Yeboah has not yet transitioned into controlling the production process of the show from the GTV team.

In a recent interview on Joy Prime’s ‘Prime Morning’ show with Roselyn Felli, Yeboah disclosed that the show initially had only one sponsor who later pulled out. Following suggestions from viewers, he is now looking to acquire full ownership from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and bring in new sponsorship opportunities for the show.

Despite being held in high regard, Yeboah noted that the channel’s members, particularly the marketing department, have not made significant efforts to promote the show to potential investors.

The seasoned quizmaster cited his dual role as a legal practitioner as the reason why he has not yet taken complete control of the show. While acknowledging that his salary has been insufficient, he emphasized that his passion for the work continues to drive him forward.

Yeboah also addressed any concerns about the integrity of the show, stating that he has never been financially induced to leak questions to contestants. He credited the professionalism and honesty of the team for maintaining the show’s consistency and relevance over the years.

‘What Do You Know?’ has been a staple on GTV for nearly fifty years, with Yeboah leading as quizmaster for around forty of those years. His unique style of moderation has contributed to the show’s success and popularity.

As Yeboah looks towards the future and aims to claim ownership of the show, fans can expect potential changes and improvements as he seeks to enhance the program’s reach and impact in the quiz show landscape.
