A Michigan inmate has been awarded a $100 million judgment against rapper and record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting him at a party nearly 30 years ago.
Derrick Lee Smith, 51, won the judgment in Lenawee County Circuit Court during a virtual hearing after Combs failed to appear.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated that the rapper plans to have the judgment dismissed, calling Smith a convicted felon and sexual predator with a history of sexual assault and kidnapping charges.
Smith, who is serving a 75-year sentence for sexual misconduct and kidnapping, filed complaints against Combs in June and August. He was granted a temporary restraining order against Combs, who is facing several other sexual assault cases.
Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records and a successful performer and fashion designer, has denied the allegations and looks forward to having the judgment overturned. The case adds to the ongoing legal challenges faced by the influential hip-hop figure.
