Ghanaian music icon Ebo Taylor has just released a new single titled ‘Obi Do Woa’ (If Someone Loves You), featuring legendary highlife pioneer Ebo Taylor. This single is part of his upcoming album ‘JAZZ IS DEAD 021’ set to be released in October.
Taylor has been making waves with recent performances at various festivals such as We Out Here Festival, Hootananny in the UK, and Festivalle in Sicily. The song was recorded at Linear Labs studios in Los Angeles with members of the Ebo Taylor Family band from Ghana.
The collaboration with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad has been described as a great honor by the forces behind the project. Jazz Is Dead is a global movement that seeks to preserve the legacies of musical heroes like 89-year-old Ebo Taylor through live concerts, visual media, and new recordings.
The upcoming album ‘JAZZ IS DEAD 021’ will be the third edition of the group’s compilation and will feature a tour across North America, with performances in Mexico and Brazil. The tour kicks off on October 9th in Los Angeles with Ebo Taylor performing alongside his Family band and Pat Thomas.
