The 6th day of the 2024 Chale Wote Street Art Festival was a vibrant and colorful event that took place at the Blackstar Square in Accra, bringing together a diverse range of performing artists.
The Sabolai Radio stage featured exciting performances from artists such as Flowking Stone, Dancegod Lloyd, DWP Academy, and Saint Z, among others. The energetic MCs, Obiba JK and Kojo Manuel, kept the audience engaged and entertained as various acts took to the stage on Saturday evening.
Prior to the evening performances, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy various arts and cultural activities at the Christianborg Castle and the Osu Township. The festival showcased a variety of art forms, from music to dance to visual arts.
The festival will conclude with more musical performances, including a special set by the legendary guitarist Akablay and his Abiza Band. Meanwhile, art exhibitions and film screenings will continue in Osu and at the Christianborg Castle.
The 2024 edition of the Chale Wote Street Art Festival aims to explore the history of the location and its significance in relation to its rebirth. The event promises to showcase a diverse range of counterhegemonic narratives through art and entertainment.
The Multimedia Group is the official media partner for the festival for the second time, providing comprehensive coverage of the event across its various platforms. Organized by Accra [dot] ALT in collaboration with Redd Kat Pictures and Chale Wote Street Art Projekt, the one-week-long festival began on August 19th and will conclude on August 25th, 2024.
