Diana Hamilton, a multiple award-winning gospel musician, has shared her experience collaborating with Nigerian musicians, describing it as analytical. In a recent interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, she spoke about her collaboration with popular Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo on the song “The Doing of the Lord.”
Hamilton expressed her admiration for Mercy Chinwo, describing her as gifted and fantastic to work with. She highlighted their exceptional working experience and praised Chinwo’s enthusiasm for the song, revealing that Chinwo fell in love with it as soon as she heard it. Hamilton also mentioned that Chinwo was eager to learn the lyrics as soon as she received the song.
According to Hamilton, “The Doing of the Lord” will serve as the anthem and theme for this year’s Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton. The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Perez Dome in Accra and will also be held in Kumasi, the UK, and the United States. This year’s edition marks the tenth anniversary of the Awake Experience.
The collaboration between Diana Hamilton and Mercy Chinwo came about through their friendship, which began at the Women in Worship event and continued through Instagram and WhatsApp conversations. Hamilton emphasized that their partnership was not facilitated by a third party, but rather developed organically through their bond.
Since its inception in 2014, the Experience with Diana Hamilton has been successfully held in various cities, with London hosting the first edition and Ghana hosting its inaugural event in 2016.
