Beloved comedian John Mulaney and his wife Annamarie Tendler have announced that they are getting a divorce after seven years of marriage.
Despite being together for several years, Melaney and Tendler did not have any children during their marriage.
In fact, Mulaney had previously expressed his reluctance to have children in his stand-up routines.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Mulaney revealed on a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers that he and actress Olivia Munn are expecting their first child together.
The couple began dating in May of 2021, while Mulaney was separated from Tendler months before he filed for divorce.
Mulaney expressed his gratitude for Munn’s support during a challenging time in his life, stating, “I got into this relationship that’s been really beautiful with someone incredible who has dealt with the non-coked up Bambi version of me, and that’s been very incredible, and she’s kind of held my hand through that hell.”
He went on to say that Olivia and their unborn child have helped him in his journey to recovery.
The news of Munn’s pregnancy came shortly after fans began speculating based on her choice of attire during public appearances. In November 2021, Munn gave birth to a baby boy named Malcolm Mulaney.
Mulaney and Munn went public with their relationship days after Mulaney filed for divorce in July.
They first met at a wedding and reconnected years later before sparking a romance. The couple eventually tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York after dating for three years.
Following the news of their impending divorce, Mulaney issued a statement through a spokesperson indicating his focus on recovery and work.
Tendler also reacted to the news, expressing her heartbreak over the end of their marriage. Prior to Mulaney’s stint in rehab, Tendler took a break from social media and later reemerged to share her photography.
