Renowned music producer and CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah, has highlighted a concerning issue within the local music industry – the lack of collaboration. Mensah views this fragmentation as a significant hindrance to the industry’s development, preventing it from keeping up with global music trends.
During the Citi Business Festival On-air series discussion on “The Music Business,” Mensah stressed the importance of industry players coming together to address this issue and implement effective solutions. He pointed out that individual efforts to solve problems within the industry are limited, but through collaboration, a more comprehensive approach can be taken.
Mensah stated, “There hasn’t been enough collaboration. What happens is that I may have a solution to just a little part of the problem. Someone else may also have another. When we come together, we solve the whole problem.” He emphasized the need for industry stakeholders to unite and work collectively towards finding lasting solutions.
In an effort to encourage collaboration, Mensah revealed plans to launch a project aimed at bringing the industry together. He believes that by working collaboratively, the industry can overcome challenges and achieve sustainable growth. Mensah cautioned against the tendency to work in isolation, stating, “If we keep sitting in our tiny corners and think we can fix the problems alone, it won’t be possible.”
