Sig Hansen, the well-known commercial fisherman and star of Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, is not only brave out at sea but also dedicated to his family life at home with his wife, June.
The couple has been married for over 20 years, and June has made appearances on the show alongside her husband. She has been featured in various episodes of Deadliest Catch, including After the Catch, Sig Hansen Legacy, and Succession.
In 2019, June Hansen received a devastating diagnosis of cancer, which was revealed on a season 15 episode of Deadliest Catch.
This news came shortly after Sig himself had suffered a heart attack. However, a Discovery representative confirmed that June is “doing fine” and was fortunate to catch the cancer early.
Despite the challenges they have faced, Sig and June have a strong family bond. Together, they have adopted two daughters, Mandy and Nina Hansen.
Mandy has even worked alongside her father on Deadliest Catch, serving as the relief captain and co-captain on his ship. Additionally, Sig has a biological daughter, Melissa, from a previous marriage.
