Renowned singer and songwriter Halsey recently took to Instagram to open up about her ongoing health struggles. In a series of videos posted on June 4, 2024, the Grammy-nominated artist revealed that she is currently battling illness but expressed gratitude for being alive.
In her emotional post, Halsey shared, “long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album.” Alongside her message, she tagged The Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise awareness for the causes close to her heart.
This isn’t the first time Halsey has been transparent about her health issues. In 2022, the singer-songwriter disclosed that she was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.
In one of the Instagram videos, Halsey can be seen visibly in pain, expressing, “I feel like an old lady.” Despite the challenges she faces, she remains optimistic about her future health, stating, “At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy.”
The singer also shared a brief snippet of her new single, The End, which is a heartfelt acoustic guitar ballad that reflects her personal journey with illness. Although Halsey has not revealed the title of her upcoming album, sources suggest that it will be deeply inspired by her health diagnosis.
