Ghanaian music promoter and event organizer, Nii Ofori Tackie, known in the industry as Alordia, has made a bold statement regarding the ability of Ghanaian musicians to fill the prestigious O2 Arena in the United Kingdom.
According to a recent interview reported by MyNewsGh.com, Alordia emphasized that no Ghanaian artist can achieve this feat alone.
Alordia pointed out that Nigerian artists who have successfully filled the O2 Arena do not do so independently but rather through collaborations with other artists.
He used the example of Davido, stating that even when a big name like Davido performs at the O2 Arena, he is often supported by artists from other African countries, including Ghanaian acts like Stonebwoy and King Promise.
The renowned promoter stressed the importance of acknowledging the collective effort required to fill such a massive venue. He stated, “We often focus on the headline artist, but they receive support from other artists as well. So, if we aim to fill the O2 Arena, it cannot be the endeavor of just one artist.”
Alordia also praised the recent performance of Medikal at the O2 Indigo, highlighting the solidarity of Ghanaian musicians who traveled to London to support their colleague.
Artists such as Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, and Efya were among those who made the event a resounding success, showcasing the unity and collaborative spirit within the Ghanaian music industry.
