Many fans of Eamonn Holmes may have a hard time picturing him with anyone other than his beloved wife and co-host, Ruth Langsford. However, it may come as a surprise to some that Eamonn was actually married before he met Ruth.
His first wife was Gabrielle Holmes, whom he married in 1976. The couple fell in love but unfortunately parted ways in 1996. Not much is known about Gabrielle, as Eamonn has kept details of their relationship private.
In his book, Eamonn shared that he and Gabrielle have an “amicable divorce” and that they maintain a close relationship for the sake of their three children. He stated, “Gabrielle will always be in my life because she’s the mother of three of my children.”
After his divorce from Gabrielle, Eamonn met Ruth in 1997 when they both worked at GMTV. They took their relationship slow out of respect for Gabrielle and Eamonn’s children and eventually tied the knot in 2010.
Together, Eamonn and Gabrielle share three children: Declan, Rebecca, and Niall. Eamonn’s son Declan is expecting his first child with his wife Jenny in July 2021, bringing joy and excitement to the family.
Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Eamonn remains close to his children and longs for the days when they can all gather as a family again. He has expressed his love and pride for his kids and looks forward to more family bonding time in the future.
