Actress and social media influencer, Akuapem Poloo, recently opened up about her regret over a nude photo she took with her son, which landed her in trouble with the law in 2020. The controversial photo, taken to mark her son’s seventh birthday, sparked outrage and led to her arrest.
In a recent interview on Accra FM, Akuapem Poloo revealed that the photo continues to haunt her, especially as her son grows older and asks questions about the incident. “Since childhood, till now, my only regret is the picture I took with my son. Aside from that, I have no regrets. The memory is seriously haunting me. As he is growing now, he is asking a lot of questions already,” she said.
As a single mother, Akuapem Poloo expressed the need to prepare herself for the difficult conversation she will have to have with her son about why he was photographed in such a compromising position. She described the incident as her only regret in life.
Following her arrest, Akuapem Poloo pleaded guilty to three charges, including the publication of obscene materials and engaging in domestic violence. In April 2021, she was sentenced to three months in prison, which was later reversed into a fine of GHS12,000.
