Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has spoken out about the recent backlash his team faced over a press statement that contained numerous errors.
The Kumawood actor faced criticism on social media after his Public Relations Officer (PRO) released a flawed announcement about his hiatus from a radio tour in Kumasi.
LilWin clarified that the grammatical mistakes in the statement were intentional, as part of a strategy to generate public interest.
He explained that following the premiere of his film, ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ at the National Theatre, there was a lack of media coverage. In response, he instructed his management to draft a statement with errors to gauge the reaction of Ghanaians.
As expected, his PRO faced ridicule on social media, with accusations of incompetence. However, Lil Win defended the move, stating that it was meant to draw attention to his movie and reignite media interest, especially ahead of its Kumasi premiere.
Despite the negative feedback, Lil Win expressed disappointment in the public’s focus on negativity rather than positive achievements.
The actor emphasized that his team is competent and intelligent, despite the criticism directed at them. He stands by the decision to deliberately include errors in the statement as a way to bring attention to his work and spark interest in his upcoming projects.
