Gospel sensation Philipa Baafi is showing her full support for fellow artist Nacee, backing him for the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’ award at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
Amidst stiff competition from big names like King Promise, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie, Philipa believes Nacee stands out as a strong contender, especially with his impactful track “Aseda,” which made waves throughout the past year.
Philipa commended Nacee’s unwavering dedication and hard work, noting that it has set him apart and positioned him as a frontrunner for the prestigious award.
Speaking to Graphic Showbiz in a recent interview, she said, “Gospel music has come a long way, thanks to the grace of God and the remarkable achievements of artists like Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther, and others who have brought pride to us all. Therefore, it’s no surprise to me that Nacee, who has consistently put in the work, has earned a well-deserved nomination this year. I am confident he will take home the top prize in that category; his song is impactful and has gained significant attention.”
Apart from throwing her weight behind Nacee, Philipa is also gearing up to mark her 25th year in the music industry with upcoming celebrations, all the while promoting her latest release, “Eda Ho Pefee.”
The highly anticipated 2024 TGMA ceremony is set to be held at the prestigious Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, June 1st.
