Decades after its debut, The Addams Family remains a fan-favorite franchise that continues to capture the hearts of audiences. Thanks to Netflix’s Wednesday, viewers have been reintroduced to the iconic clan in a whole new light.
The season 2 cast of Netflix’s Wednesday is filled with talented actors, including Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams. The ensemble cast also includes Isaac Ordonez, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Joanna Lumley, Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, Fred Armisen, and more.
Teasing what’s to come in season 2, Jenna Ortega shared with E! News, “Everything is bigger, it’s a lot more action-packed. We’re definitely leaning into a little more horror this season. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”
The show’s executives expressed their excitement for the upcoming season, stating, “We’re thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2. Our goal this season was to discover some fresh faces as well as invite some acting legends we’ve always admired to join Jenna and the gang at Nevermore.”
Before Jenna Ortega took on the role of Wednesday Addams, stars like Lisa Loring, Christina Ricci, Nicole Fugere, and Chloë Grace Moretz have all portrayed the beloved character in the past. Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the 1991 film adaptation, made a return to the franchise in a different role during the first season of Netflix’s Wednesday.
Unfortunately, due to the deaths of their characters, Gwendoline Christine and Christina Ricci will not be returning for the show’s second season. Percy Hynes White and Naomi J. Ogawa have also departed the series.
