‘Wednesday’ season 2 announces full cast as filming kicks off

“Wednesday” Season 2 is currently in production in Ireland, as announced by Netflix. The streaming service has revealed the full cast for the new season of the popular series.

Returning for Season 2 is Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. Additionally, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo will be promoted to series regulars. Zeta-Jones plays Morticia, Guzmán portrays Gomez, and Ordonez takes on the role of Pugsley. Other returning cast members include Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer, with Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane in guest roles.

Notably absent from the Season 2 announcement is Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe in Season 1. Hynes White faced allegations of sexual assault in 2023, which he strongly denied.

New series regulars for Season 2 include Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Steve Buscemi, and guest star Thandiwe Newton. The guest star lineup also features Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

The creators and showrunners of the series, Al Gough and Miles Millar, expressed excitement about the new additions to the cast. They stated, “We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.”

“Wednesday” debuted in November 2022 and quickly became a hit for Netflix, garnering multiple Emmy nominations and wins. Season 2 was delayed due to industry strikes in 2023 but is now back on track with production.

Executive producers on the series include Tim Burton, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, and others. Ortega will also serve as a producer for Season 2. Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson will be directing episodes this season, with MGM Television as the studio behind the production.

Fans can look forward to the return of “Wednesday” with an exciting new cast and storyline for Season 2.
