Actress Kristin Davis, widely known for her role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt in Sex and the City and its reboot, And Just Like That…, has garnered much attention for her portrayal as a motherly figure on the show. Many fans have been curious to know if Kristin Davis has children of her own.
At the peak of her career, Kristin Davis made the decision to adopt two children. In 2011, she welcomed her daughter, Gemma Rose Davis, into her family. Interestingly, the name Rose also happened to be the name of Kristin’s on-screen daughter in Sex and the City.
Reflecting on this resemblance in an interview with Anderson Cooper, Kristin shared, “I had totally forgotten that on Sex and the City, I also had a child named Rose.”
In 2018, Kristin expanded her family by adopting her son, Wilson Davis. This decision came after her daughter expressed a desire for a Black little brother.
Embracing the responsibility of raising two Black children, Kristin has been candid about educating herself on Black culture. She even took a class to learn how to style Black hair, emphasizing the importance of bonding through such experiences.
Unlike her character on SATC, Kristin Davis is not married and has never been married. She has chosen to focus on other aspects of her life and does not see marriage as a personal goal. This distinction between her real-life values and her character’s desires required extra effort to make Charlotte’s longing for marriage believable on screen.
Fans can look forward to seeing Kristin Davis reprise her role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt in season 3 of And Just Like That… alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon.
Reflecting on the dynamic between the characters in the show, Kristin expressed her belief in the importance of having friends with different perspectives, much like the characters in Sex and the City.
