Patric Gagne, a writer, mental health advocate, and former therapist, has recently released her debut novel titled “Sociopath: A Memoir.” The novel sheds light on Gagne’s personal journey with sociopathic personality disorder and her struggles in coming to terms with her diagnosis.
Gagne, born in Los Angeles and raised in the South, aims to change people’s attitudes towards antisocial personality disorder through her memoir. She is a proud alumnus of The Groundlings School, known for its improv and sketch comedy.
After being diagnosed with sociopathic personality disorder in her twenties, Gagne pursued a doctorate in clinical psychology. She explored the link between anxiety and sociopathy, ultimately leading her to write her thesis and lay the groundwork for her debut memoir.

Despite her diagnosis, Gagne leads a fulfilling life with her husband, David, whom she married in 2007, and their two children. She emphasizes the importance of her relationship with her family in her life and continues to advocate for those suffering from similar personality disorders.
Through her memoir, Gagne aims to show that sociopaths are not inherently evil and that raising awareness and normalizing the condition can greatly improve the lives of those affected.
