The National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Executive Committee (NEC) has officially endorsed Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for flagbearer John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming 2020 presidential elections.
The decision was made after a meeting held by the NEC to discuss and finalize the selection of a running mate for the party. Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang, a former Minister of Education and the first female Vice-Chancellor of a Ghanaian university, was unanimously approved by the committee.
This marks a significant milestone for the NDC as Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang becomes the first female running mate to be selected by the party. Her extensive experience in academia and government positions is seen as a valuable asset to complement John Dramani Mahama’s leadership in the race for the presidency.
The NEC’s decision to endorse Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang is expected to energize and mobilize the party’s support base as they gear up for the upcoming elections. With the combination of her expertise and Mahama’s political experience, the NDC is confident in their ability to present a strong and unified front to challenge the ruling government in the upcoming polls.
