Australian police are currently investigating an allegation made by a paparazzo who claims he was assaulted by Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, in Sydney. The incident occurred at a wharf, where the photographer, Ben McDonald, accused the 71-year-old Mr. Swift of striking his face. Fortunately, McDonald did not sustain any injuries that required medical attention.

The altercation took place as Taylor Swift and her father disembarked from a yacht after a late-night outing. A video released by Australian media shows the singer, concealed under an umbrella, walking with her father and security guards along Neutral Bay Wharf in the early hours of the morning.

According to McDonald, the incident occurred after Taylor Swift had already entered a car when her father allegedly charged at him and assaulted him. The photographer expressed his surprise at the unprovoked attack, stating that in his 23 years of experience, he had never encountered such hostility.

While the singer’s representative did not address the assault claim directly, they mentioned that two individuals had behaved aggressively towards them, with one person reportedly threatening to throw a female staff member into the water. The incident occurred following Taylor Swift’s final performance in her highly successful Eras tour in Australia.

The matter is currently being investigated by the North Shore Police Area Command, with inquiries underway to ascertain the details of the alleged assault. As the investigation progresses, more information is expected to clarify the events that transpired at the wharf that night.
