Russia launches worldwide search for Ukrainian model Lolita Bogdanova
The Russian government has initiated an international hunt for 24-year-old Ukrainian model Lolita Bogdanova. This move comes after her provocative photos went viral, leading to her addition to Russia’s “most wanted” list.
Lolita, known for her risqué content on OnlyFans, hails from Makiivka, which is currently under Russian control. Despite this, she appears to be enjoying life in the United States, based on her glamorous lifestyle photos frequently posted on Instagram.
Her troubles with the Russian government began after she posed topless in front of Moscow’s Red Square back in 2021. This picture, three years later, has sparked outrage among religious groups and individuals close to Vladimir Putin. One senior member of the church even suggested that she should express “repentance” for her actions.
In response to the backlash, Lolita previously offered apologies for offending religious followers and claimed that the controversial photos were taken a long time ago and she did not upload them herself.
Despite signing an agreement not to leave Russia during the investigation, she was never arrested. The Russian ministry has not provided any explanation for the sudden pursuit of the model, stating that she is wanted “under a criminal article” without specifying the allegations against her.
Lolita’s situation is part of a broader trend of Russia’s crackdown on individuals who diverge from the country’s traditional values, in the eyes of the government. This includes the recent detention of Maxim Tesli, frontman of the band Puppies, after a “near-naked party rocked Moscow.” Tesli was detained after a performance in a St. Petersburg club, where his sock reportedly fell off, leaving him completely naked.
Russian authorities charged him with “petty hooliganism,” hinting that a criminal case may follow. Social activist Vitaly Borodin labeled Tesli’s costume as “LGBT propaganda,” reflecting the country’s current stance on moral and cultural standards.
These recent developments indicate a shift in the leadership’s focus towards upholding “traditional values,” in contrast to previous years under Putin’s rule.
