The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has escalated his accusations against the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming that they are leading a campaign to undermine the 24-hour economy policy proposed by John Mahama.

Gyamfi alleges that the NPP is growing increasingly nervous and panicky over the positive reception and acceptance of this policy among Ghanaians. He asserts that the ruling party is striving to discredit the policy’s credibility and popularity, emphasizing that their lack of innovative ideas and viable policy propositions is leading them to undermine Mahama’s initiatives.

In a press release issued on Monday, February 19, Mr. Gyamfi emphasized that the NPP’s attempts to derail Mr. Mahama’s initiatives will be futile, as the Ghanaian people have already embraced them.

He further challenged the NPP to present alternative policies for scrutiny by the Ghanaian electorate before the December polls, enabling citizens to make informed decisions based on a comparative analysis of the two parties’ proposals.

Mr. Gyamfi concluded that the NPP’s campaign against the “commendable policy” reflects their desperation, and that their discrediting strategies will not deter the widespread acceptance of Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposal among the Ghanaian people.
