Prince Harry has revealed that he gracefully leaped onto a transatlantic flight as soon as he learned of his father’s cancer diagnosis.

He made this disclosure during a rare appearance on a Good Morning America segment that aired on Friday.

During the interview, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to spend time with his family. The royal, who now resides in Southern California with his wife, Meghan Markle, said the chance to visit his father and spend time with him was truly cherished.

Charles, the King of England who ascended to the throne 18 months ago after the demise of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, was the subject of a Buckingham Palace announcement on Feb. 5 regarding his diagnosis.

Although the details of his condition were not made public, Prince Harry made his way to London on a red-eye as soon as he heard the news.

During the interview, Prince Harry further revealed that he has other trips planned to England and intends to spend as much time with his family as possible.

In recent years, he has been embroiled in several controversies, including the breach with Prince William following his exit from the Royal Family, and a class-action lawsuit involving the phone hacking by U.K. tabloids.

Nevertheless, he aimed to spotlight his passion project, the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style competition for wounded service members that he founded ten years ago.
