The recent cabinet reshuffle by President Akufo-Addo has come under fire from the Member of Parliament for Bodi, Sampson Ahi.

Ahi claims that the reshuffle violates the constitution by excluding ministers from the Western North Region, leaving no one to represent the region in the cabinet.

He pointed out that the constitution demands regional balance when reshuffling the cabinet, and the exclusion of the Western North Region is a huge mistake.

Ahi highlighted the fact that the only person from the Western North Region in the previous cabinet, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, was sacked and replaced by someone from a different region, with no one from the Western North selected to replace him.

Additionally, there were no nominees from the Western North Region for deputy minister positions.

Ahi emphasized that the absence of representation from the Western North Region in the President’s government is not right and called for the mistake to be rectified.

He stated that the people of the Western North are not happy with the reshuffle and urged the President to do the right thing by considering regional balance in his cabinet appointments.
