GE Vernova, a company dedicated to driving electrification and decarbonization, has announced its commitment to accelerating Nigeria’s sustainable energy transition journey. Operating in key segments like power, wind, and electrification, GE Vernova has been present in Nigeria for over 100 years, supporting the generation of more than half of the country’s power supply.

This event brought together government officials, financiers, stakeholders, and industry leaders to discuss the energy transition in areas such as generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption.

U.S. Mission Commercial Counselor Julie LeBlanc commended American companies like GE Vernova for their contributions to renewable energy and adherence to high standards of quality and transparency. GE Vernova has been actively involved in projects in Nigeria, such as the construction of the Gwagwalada Independent Power Plant and the commissioning of hydropower turbines for the Zungeru hydropower project. The company is also providing aeroderivative gas turbines for the Aba Integrated Power Project.
