Operating in key segments like power, wind, and electrification, GE Vernova has been present in Nigeria for over 100 years, supporting the generation of more than half of the country’s power supply.

Nigeria, known as one of Africa’s economic powerhouses, is facing a changing energy landscape due to factors like population growth, industrialization, and increased electricity demand. Acknowledging the crucial role of the energy industry in supporting economic growth and improving citizens’ quality of life, GE Vernova recently hosted the “Nigeria Energy Dialogue” event. This event brought together government officials, financiers, stakeholders, and industry leaders to discuss the energy transition in areas such as generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption.

Kenneth Oyakhire, Managing Director of Services – SSA for GE Vernova’s Gas Power, emphasized the company’s commitment to Nigeria’s power infrastructure. Through collaborations with the government and industry stakeholders, GE Vernova aims to ensure the continued role of power generation assets in a cleaner energy future, delivering reliable and sustainable power. Utilizing its global experience and innovative solutions, GE Vernova is dedicated to making Nigeria’s energy transition a reality.
