A mobile money operator has been shot in Walewale in the North East Region.
The victim, identified as Rabiu, was rushed to the Walewale Government hospital on Monday, February 11, Myjoyonline reports.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attack occurred at a busy bus station near the Nalerigu junction along the Tamale Bolga Road in the center of the Walewale township.
The gunmen, numbering about three, arrived on motorbikes, fired sporadic warning shots, and then targeted the young operator with gunshots.
Aremeyaw Somo Lucky, the Municipal Chief Executive, confirmed the attack and said the police had launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of mobile money operators in the region, and police efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for this violent act.
