Kofi Bentsil, a Vice President of Policy Think Tank, IMANI AFRICA, has emphasized that the current intermittent power cuts in Ghana should not be compared to the severe power crisis experienced under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.
According to Bentsil, although the current power issues are concerning, they do not match the intensity of the challenges faced during the Mahama administration.
He also made it clear that these power cuts do not make him reconsider his stance on returning Ghana to the governance of John Dramani Mahama, whom he believes performed worse during his tenure as president.
Following his remarks on Facebook, Bentsil has faced backlash from some Ghanaians who disagree with his views.
However, he took the opportunity to urge the government to address the current power challenges swiftly.
“My answer to all those asking …This is NOT Dumsor!! The power issues are bad, but it reminds me of what we went through for years!! no logic can equate them or make me want to give the nation back to the ones who did worse!! That said, please fix this power mess it’s terrible!!”
