Today, Tuesday, February 6, marks the beginning of Parliament’s first meeting of the fourth session.
During this session, a comprehensive line-up of 82 Bills is anticipated to be presented to the House for approval into law.
Among these bills are significant legislative proposals such as the Aged Persons Bill of 2023, the Advertising Council Bill of 2023, and the Consumer Protection Bill of 2023.
The Parliament’s statement highlighted the importance of these bills in addressing various socio-economic and governance challenges within the country.
Additionally, the House will focus on advancing 12 bills currently at the committee level. Notable among them are the Affirmative Action (Gender Equality) Bill, 2023, and the Social Protection Bill, 2023.
Members of Parliament have been urged to adhere to punctuality to ensure the smooth and efficient consideration of these bills before the House proceeds on recess, preceding the general elections.
