The Minister emphasized the importance of valuing lives and minimizing unnecessary fatalities and urged everyone to take precautions to prevent accidents. The Ofankor-Nsawam road, which serves as a major arterial road for several communities and is vital for trade between Ghana and its neighboring landlocked countries, is currently under construction and expected to be completed by July 2024.

Rehabilitation work on the 33.4km stretch, which is part of the Accra-Kumasi road network, began in 2022 and is funded by the Government at a cost of over GH¢342k. The Minister assures that all construction sites will adhere to standard safety protocols to prevent future accidents. The Chief Resident Engineer for the project, Mr. Kwabena Bempong, also assured that the project would be completed on schedule.

The Minister also toured other road projects in the Greater Accra Region and reiterated the commitment of the Government to ensure the safety of all road users. The completion of these projects will benefit the nation and enhance road safety.
