A group within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) known as the Alliance for Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA) has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reconsider the recent appointment of Ken Ofori Atta.

The group expressed its disappointment with the president’s decision to appoint Ken Ofori Atta to a new role.

According to AFFA, the appointment of the former Finance Minister to a new position is seen as a disregard for the views and wishes of the Ghanaian electorate.

AFFA emphasized that while the president has the authority to appoint and dismiss individuals, such decisions should not be made without considering the sentiments of the Ghanaian people.

Ken Ofori Atta was recently appointed by President Akufo-Addo as the Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Envoy for International Finance and Private Sector Investment following his exit from the Finance Ministry.
