A Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has assured the public that the National Chairman, Stephen Ntim, has not been sidelined in the party’s campaign structure ahead of the 2024 election.
This comes after the party unveiled a campaign team that did not include the name of the national chairman, sparking discussions about his role within the campaign.
Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, Mr. Mohammed clarified that Mr. Ntim has a significant role to play in the party’s campaign. He emphasized that Stephen Ntim is an integral part of the campaign coordinating committee, which is chaired by the 2024 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Mohammed also highlighted that the committee includes key figures such as the General Secretary and all 16 regional chairpersons, emphasizing the importance of Stephen Ntim’s contributions to the overall campaign effort.
He further emphasized that the decision to include the national chairman in the structure of the campaign team was thoroughly discussed at the national executive committee and subsequently approved by the national council of the party.
This clarification from the Deputy General Secretary aims to dispel any concerns about the exclusion of the national chairman and to reassure the public about the unity and collaboration within the party as they gear up for the 2024 election.
