The Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapor, has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, for their 24-hour economy policy, calling it a mere slogan.

Addressing a ceremony in Damongo where he was acclaimed as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo Constituency, Mr Jinapor pointed out that the NDC, during their four years in power, failed to provide a 12-hour economy and instead plunged the country into a power crisis. He emphasized that their record in government shows that they cannot be trusted with their proposed 24-hour economy.

Mr Jinapor also highlighted the failure of the NDC to explain the concept of the 24-hour economy to the ordinary Ghanaian. He stated that the party’s record in government, marked by power cuts, is evident that they cannot deliver such an economy.

During the ceremony, which drew several dignitaries, Mr. Jinapor urged Ghanaians to support the NPP presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, citing that within two months of being elected, Dr Bawumia had laid down his policies and strategies to take Ghana to the next level. He went on to criticize Mr Mahama for not providing any substantial policy proposal to Ghanaians and called on the public to rally behind the NPP and Dr Bawumia to continue the progressive policies the Government is implementing.

The Minister’s comments address one of the key policies advocated by the NDC and underscore the NPP’s confidence in their ability to lead the country and bring about the much-needed development for Ghanaians.
