Yaa Ampofowaa, the wife of the former Assemblyman for Denkyira-Obuasi who was jailed for the murder of Major Maxwell Mahama, has revealed that their children have dropped out of school as a result of her husband’s incarceration.
She expressed that her husband, William Baah, was the main provider for the family, and his imprisonment has led to financial hardship and the inability to keep their three children in school.
Ampofowaa also shared the distressing experience of her children constantly inquiring about their father’s whereabouts.
Ms. Ampofowaa, now a single mother engaged in hand-to-mouth business, expressed her struggle as her income is not sufficient to afford to educate her children. She credited her husband’s family for providing some relief to the family’s hardship.
